Redefining the real: how digitalization in visual culture relates to metaphysics

Abstract

This thesis is developed for the master course ‘Design and Visual Culture’ at IADE university in Lisbon, Portugal. It aims to explore the influence of contemporary visual culture on metaphysics; our philosophy of being. This paper will dive into the historical patterns of perception of visual culture on civilization in order to analyze the present and contemplate on the future.
