memória descritiva e justificativa, as condições técnicas gerais e específicas, as
medições e orçamento e as fichas de acabamentos. As peças desenhadas
destinado a proteger, divulgar e promover o Festival.
O programa multifuncional
sustentabilidade deste projeto, criando alternativas, fomentando o emprego e
estimulando a sua utilização regular.
Abstract: The Vilar de Mouros Festival, usually remembered and recognized in all the country as the precursor of all the music festivals, became a cultural icon and one of the most important local event, counting with the first edition in 1965. In that year it was organized a folk festival that by the large impact it had it was done in the next years and reaching immortalization in 1971, most of all because of rock music nature and the presence of bands with great international projection. Held up till the present days, sometimes with long interregnums and therefore named as the festival of several generations, it has been creating a certain eclecticism, which attracts musical styles that lead people with the most different musical tastes. In order to keep alive the memory of this festivals, it was developed a research and a proposal for a building called "Interpretation Centre of Vilar de Mouros Festival", so that the material and immaterial heritage, which is very dispersed in this moment, will not be lost. This required to carry out an investigation with very specific goals, and identify the specific elements of ephemeral architecture, architectural icons and also the use of spaces, associated to Vilar de Mouros Festival and declaring their meanings. Completed this process, it will be possible then, to propose a building for an “Interpretation Centre of Vilar de Mouros Festival”. This research is part of an Ethnographic investigation method, which is characterized by qualitative analysis, according to social research, in which is of particular emphasis on the exploration of the nature of a social phenomenon in particular, through interviews, participant observation and document analysis. This dissertation is structured in two parts, one with written pieces and another with drawing pieces. In the written pieces, the research under the project began with a contextualization of the themes of the Intangible Heritage, the Ephemeral Architecture and Cultural buildings, particularly the interpretation centers. Then the study was focused on the various editions of Vilar de Mouros Festival, organizing it into categories of analysis, including its transformation, the identity symbols, the use of spaces and the sensations related to the forty years of its existence. From the written pieces are also part the descriptive and justified memory, the general and specific technical conditions, measurements and budget and also the finishes map. The drawing pieces consist on the base project and the implementation project. In conclusion, through this analysis it was possible to develop a specific, structured programme according to the needs of an equipment to protect, disseminate and promote the Festival. This equipment will be proposed to a building located in the center of the village, called "Casa do Barrocas" which belongs to Vilar de Mouros Parish. In addition to the valences for which it will be designed, it should be versatile, supporting not only the organization during the event but also to allow different cultural activities throughout the year. The proposed multi-functional program will enable support for future festivals, as well as public divulgation and also the pedagogical aspect, through protocols with various educational institutions. This versatility will be crucial to the sustainability of this project, creating alternatives, boosting employment and stimulating its regular use.
