Abstract

O envelhecimento da população a nível mundial é das maiores transformações sociais deste século e um dos grandes desafios da sociedade atual. A dependência dos familiares ou a necessidade de institucionalização poderia ser evitada, no entanto, com a promoção de um envelhecimento ativo e saudável. O turismo, e mais especificamente o turismo de saúde e bem-estar, pode ter um papel fundamental para melhorar a qualidade de vida das pessoas idosas. O Hotel Zinnis procura disponibilizar uma oferta turística adequada ao turismo sénior e baseada no Design Universal, tendo como alicerce a acessibilidade, e estando integrado num lugar de referência a nível mundial de turismo de saúde e bem-estar como a Região Autónoma dos Açores e mais concretamente a Ilha de São Miguel.The world’s population ageing is one of the greatest social transformations of the century and one of the great challenges of today's society.
