O presente documento organiza e apresenta a
conteúdo narrativos e relacionados a arte sequencial. A
obtidos.
A contribuição do conhecimento desta tese propõe: a
This academic paper organizes and presents the research conducted in the Master of Design and Visual Culture at IADE - Universidade Europeia. It aims to endorse the development and transformations of the graphic narrative in comic books on social media such as Instagram. The analysis focuses on the resulting characteristics between the standard narrative form of comic books and their graphic adaptation when shared on the application. For this purpose, it analyzes the case studies of illustrators, recognized worldwide thanks to the platform. In the design area, this thesis crosses different disciplinary fields within the area that namely studies of visual culture, in the analysis of narrative content, and related to sequential art. The methodology used presents a qualitative analysis of comic books, according to the model proposed in fundamental categories of meaning creation in sequential art. It elaborates analysis of the results according to occurrences' patterns and exceptions that follow to a conclusion from the results obtained. The knowledge contributions of this thesis are the contextualization and theoretical expansion of the disciplinary fields for the analysis of comic books originating from the Instagram application and forecasts of this segment that is still in an embryonic stage.
